Flattening Friedman

Jack Shafer of Slate finds Tom Friedman guilty of self-promotion. It appears that Mr. Friedman has been hyping up his book in his columns and it seems to irritate Mr. Shafer. By the way the hype worked on me I ended up buying it, but my thinking is that the book is cheaper than reading his column.
