Heil Schroeder!

Gerhard Schroeder has insisted that the only way that a Grand Coalition could work would be if he were to remain as Chancellor. It appears that he may have overplayed his hand. In the NYT I link to it notes that a number of German papers ripped Schroeder for his stand yet they Times failed to note what their ideological leanings were. For example I don't know that much about German newspapers but I am pretty certain that the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung is conservative. The criticism of Schroeder, they compared him to Putin, should be expected.
